Two Mimeographed Leaves of Sample Letters

N.d. ca. 1930s. Two leaves (27.5x21.5cm.) printed mimeo on rectos only. Previous folds, one leaf toned, else Very Good or better. Collection of six tongue-in-cheek sample letters to write to customers with overdue accounts: "Just think, your account of $7.00 will have its first annual birthday this month! Shall we celebrate the occasion by crossing it off the red side of the ledger and placing your name in good standing?" The tenor does get a bit more forceful, the third letter threatening legal action: "Somehow or other, we always look upon the mailman as a very friendly messenger, and I know you would much prefer having communications presented to you through this channel than through a court representative." To us, however, the most sinister of the letters signs off "best regards to your family." (For those who need to know, $7 in 1930, the date based on the book in which we found these (a dentist's), is about $100 in today's terms.). Item #1200
