A collection of illustrations from early editions of the Tales of La Fontaine, all signed in text by the engraver F. Depollier, representing mostly the works of French Rococo artists of the 18th century, including 12 plates after Nicolas Lancret (1690-1743); 8 by Jean-Baptiste Pater (signed in text "Paterre," (1695-1736)); four each by the artists François Boucher, Charles-Dominique-Joseph Eisen, and Nicolas Vleughels; and a couple examples by Claude Lorrain (also signed Laurin), P. Le Mesle, and Sébastien Le Clerc.
