First edition limited to 1200 copies of which this is no. 406, folio, unpaged; 64 leaves of color plates mounted to grey stock interleaved with descriptive leaves printed in brown; original three-quarter red morocco over cloth; boards separated, spine leather almost completely perished; modern ownership inscription on front fly leaf, else textblock and plates fine. Bound in is the United States distributor Brohier Cie's description of their De Luxe Editions, "Distributing profits donated to 'La Protection du Réformé No. 2' Official War Charity, France." Also bound in with the mimeographed typescript letter signed in facsimile from the Company, text in French accompanied by the English translation, announcing this limited edition, numbered and signed by Gauthier, the work's designer and executor. Very good albeit in poor binding. Item #652
