Hardcover. 12 volumes; octavo (21.5cm.); uniformly bound in publisher's pictorial cloth, all in original drab die-cut dust jackets; frontispieces. Dust jackets somewhat worn, some more so than others, and rather brittle from poor stock quality, spines uniformly toned with cloth toned where the jacket spines are die-cut, some loss from the die-cut including top inch of jacket crown of Vol IX. Still, a Very Good set in the unusual jacket. This set "prepared expressly for Patrons of Record," Jutta Schwarz, "Presented to her by her Father and Mother Christmas, 1936." Signed by R.B. Handy, Adjutant General of the VFW. Though at the time complete, two additional volumes would be published in the 1940s. Item #878
